Giana Parra Q & A

Windsor High School Senior Project

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: I am not 100% certain what I want to be when I am older except that I see myself working very closely with people, getting to know them and what they are about. I have always had a good set of listening and communication skills so I am leaning towards becoming some sort of Therapist or Psychiatrist. I long to reach out to new people, get a closer perspective into their spirits and try my hardest to help and repair them.

Q: Why did you pick Createsburg for your senior project?
A: I picked Createsburg for my senior project because I lack good computer skills despite the stereotype of teenagers being techy. I was eager to pick up skills that I could apply in real life scenarios like work and school. I also admire the creativity behind marketing and wanted to understand the techniques and process of catching peoples attention. It amazes me how an idea so simple could turn into something amazing. Another thing that lead me toward Createsburg was Mustafa’s confidence and determination when it comes to do what he knows and loves, I now strive for the same amount of confidence and determination in my own life.

Q: What did you think that we did at Createsburg before doing your senior project with us?
A: Prior to doing my project I thought Createsburg helped promote local businesses and individuals via social media, film production and the creation of websites, flyers, etc.

Q: What do you plan to do after you graduate this June?
A: I plan on attending the Santa Rosa Junior College after I graduate. I made this decision because it will allow me to stay at home a little longer and it gives me more time to figure out the career path I am completely certain on before transferring. I am nervous for the transition between high school and college but I am equally as excited to begin a new journey of self discovery and success.

Q: What did you like most about doing your senior project at Createsburg?
A: What I liked most about doing my project at Createsburg was learning new computer, communication and business skills from Mustafa. I appreciated his patience with me and for allowing me to figure things out on my own but also offering a helping hand.

Q: What do you feel was the most important thing that you learned from doing your senior project at Createsburg?
A: The most important thing I learned was actually a direct quote from Mustafa: “You’ve gotta remember the world is messed (fucked) up. Be the aggressor or you’ll be the victim”. This motivates me to get shit done, no time for nonsense or idiotic people. It motivates me to be my own boss and play my own rules because in the end the only player on my team is myself.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: In 5 years I see myself graduating college or at least getting ready to. By that time I will be 23 years old which is a scary thought. It reminds me that high school is ending and it is time to get serious and join the real world of working adults. I plan on doing a lot of traveling between graduating college and starting a career which is something I look forward to. I would to experience different cultures and customs outside of my small world in Sonoma County. 5 years from now I hope to be happy, surrounded by supportive people and living my best life.
